# Bring Your Own Agent

**Bring Your Own Agent** lets Glaze work with the agents and models you already use. Connect your **Claude** subscription and you can build with Claude models such as **Opus**, **Sonnet**, and **Fable** from inside Glaze. This uses your own Claude subscription rather than **Glaze credits**, so your builds draw on the Claude plan you already pay for.

## What You Need

To connect Claude, you need a compatible, locally authenticated **Claude Code** subscription on your Mac. Glaze uses the Claude Code sign-in already on your machine, so there's nothing to paste into Glaze and no credentials to hand over.

> Glaze doesn't read or store your Claude credentials. Your Claude sign-in stays with Claude Code on your Mac; Glaze builds through it without holding your login.

## Connect Claude

You connect Claude once, in **Settings**, and it's then available in the composer's model picker across your projects.

1. **Install Claude Code** on your Mac if you don't have it yet.
2. **Sign in to your Claude subscription** in Claude Code.
3. In Glaze, open **Settings -> Account** and connect Claude. The **How to connect** dialog walks you through the same steps if you need them.

Once connected, your Claude models appear alongside **Glaze Fast** and **Glaze Smart** in the composer's model picker. See [Agent Chat](https://manual.glaze.app/prompting/agent-chat) for how the picker works.

## How Usage Works

- Building with a connected Claude model uses your **Claude subscription** instead of your **Glaze credits**, so these runs don't draw down your Glaze credit balance. See [Credits](https://manual.glaze.app/account/credits).
- Your normal **Claude usage limits** still apply, just as they would when using Claude directly.
- During the beta, building through your connected Claude subscription is **unlimited** on the Glaze side.

## Track Context Usage

When you build with a connected Claude model, the `/context` command in [Agent Chat](https://manual.glaze.app/prompting/agent-chat) shows a breakdown of how much of the model's context is in use. As you approach the limit, Glaze surfaces controls for reviewing and compacting the context so a long session keeps room to work.

## If a Model Becomes Unavailable

If a Claude model you've selected becomes unavailable, Glaze routes you to **Account Settings** to sort out the connection rather than quietly switching to **Glaze Smart** or **Glaze Fast** and spending your Glaze credits. You stay in control of which models a build uses.
